This year's sale got off to a late start due to the auctioneer being stuck in Denver due to snow. He flew into Milwaukee around sale starting time and drove to Albany in record time. The crowd was patient and cheered him on when he arrived. The sale got off to a great start with Hi Dee 3021 entering the ring. This 3-year old averages 21 #1 eggs per flush. Kelly Kilpatrick bought 1/2 interest in this gem for $25,000. Kelly also purchased Lot 21, Lassity 5076, sired by LCC Gravity and bred to Schuler Silver Bullet, for $8,000.

The sale's top seller was Lot 16-Bloxy 5059, who was sired by Bieber Make Mimi 7249 and bred to Bieber Romero 9136. She sold for $30,000 to Star G Ranch and the Johnson Brothers. The Star G/Johnson partners also took home bred heifers Lot 2A-Tidy Bee 5419 ET, also sired by Bieber Make Mimi, bred to Silver Bullet for $3000; Lot 14-Copper Cap 5053 for $8,000; Lot 19-Miss Mimi 5037 for $3,000; Lot 31-Lass 5023 for $3,500; a heifer calf, Lot 10-Ms. Advance 6042 for $3,250; and an embryo package for $1500.

Silver Bullet's heifer calves were in demand. The Star G/Johnson partners took home Silver Bullet's first calf, Lot 6, CopperQueen 6001 for $6,000. The Silver Bullet/Eleanor J1266 calves are top of the line. J1266 ranks in the top 1% of the breed for stayability and heifer pregnancy and has an whopping MPPA of 105. Jacob Roberts, our youngest buyer, picked up Lot 4A for $7,000. Steve Maier of C-Bar Ranch took an Eleanor J1266/Silver Bullet mix as well as an SRN Eleanor 3524/Silver Bullet combination, selling for $4250 each. Other lucky buyers of Silver Bullet/Eleanor calves were Peter McDaid, Richard Luciano, Micah Snyder, and Jerry VanWye.

Andrew Miles of Walnut Ridge Farms bought Lots 45 and 51, his first registered red angus.
